During the opening ceremony of the 44th edition of Roshd International Film Festival in Mashhad, the festival deputy Mohammadreza Ghorbani maintained that 1200 films had been submitted to the secretariat of the festival, of which 980 titles were from Iran and 220 titles from 40 different countries across the world, including Spain, Germany, England, Belgium, Canada and India.
“Out of the submitted works, 209 films have been accepted for screening and awards will be granted to the best productions in the upcoming days,” said Ghorbani.
According to him, one of the most important aims of the Roshd festival is to utilize the existing potentials in the field of education and training.
The 44th edition of Roshd International Film Festival opened today in North Khorasan Province and will run until February 19, 2015.
Roshd International Film Festival is focused on the films with educational and pedagogical themes and is staged every year by the Supplying Educational Media Center, a sub-branch of the Ministry of Education of Iran. The Festival seeks the main objectives of identifying and selecting the best educational and pedagogical films in order to introduce them to the educational systems.
