Iran to join FIS Alpine Ski Championships in US

TEHRAN, Jan. 25 (MNA) – Iran’s Ski Federation announced the name of 8 elected athletes to participate in the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships.

The steering committee of Iran’s Ski Federation announced the name of 8 elected men and women athletes to participate in the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships held in Colorado, USA.

The elected members to the competition include Mohammad Kiadarbandsari, Hossein Saveh Shemshaki and Seyed Morteza Jafari as well as Mitra Kalhor, Forough Abbasi, Sadaf Saveh Shemshaki and Ziba Kalhor.

Iran’s national Alpine team will leave Iran for Colorado on February to attend the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships.

The competition attended by 105 countries will kick off on February 12 in Colorado and will wrap up on February 19.

Iran was first present at the 2009 World Ski Championships held in France and then attended World Championships in Germany in 2011 and Austria in 2013.
