Iran, Malay World to boost cultural ties

TEHRAN, Jan. 14 (MNA) – The conference of ‘Iran and Malay World: Cultural ties’ will be held to study and discuss the cultural ties between Iran and the Malay ethnicity in Southeast Asia.

The event is organized by Iran cultural center in Malaysia and Encyclopedia Islamica Foundation.

The conference will be attended by scholars of EIF and Malaysian universities to discuss Islamic Mysticism, the effects of Persian language on Malayan literature, and Iranian culture and art in Malay World.

‘Malay World in historical works of Iran’ and ‘Arabic and Persian transcripts in Malay World’ are other themes of the conference.

Malay ethnicity includes the communities now living in Malay Peninsula, Southern Thailand, Singapore, and northeast of Sumatra. Iran-Malaysia official relations started in 1966 by opening of Malaysian embassy in Tehran.
