Iran, Iraq renew agreement on blood transfusion

TEHRAN, Jan. 06 (MNA) – Iraqi Deputy Health Minister for International Affairs and Iran’s IBTO extended their cooperation MoU on blood transfusion.

Iraqi Deputy Health Minister for International Affairs Ramsey Mansour and his accompanying delegation visited Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization (IBTO) on Monday.

During their meeting, Iranian and Iraqi sides extended their Memorandum of Cooperative Agreement on blood transfusion for further two years.

In addition to former activities, Iraqi delegation demanded for further cooperation on haemovigilance and plasma purification.

Holding short-term training courses on blood transfusion, helping to establish qualitative control systems, technology transfer, visits and consultative services to improve the blood transfusion systems are among the objectives included in the renewed accord between the two countries.

Iraq and Iran began their cooperation on blood transfusion in 2011 and extended the accord for further two years with Iranian IBTO officials initially proposed the terms for renewing the MOU with the Iraqi side.
