Iran’s aviation industry export hits $100mn: Official

TEHRAN, Dec. 27 (MNA) – The head of Iran's Aerospace Industries Organization (AIO) announced that the country’s aviation industry exports have reached $100 million.

Head of Iran's Aerospatiale Industries Organization (AIO) Majid Manteghi announced that the country’s aviation industry exports have reached $100 million.

Majid Manteghi pointed to the significance made by Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and President Rouhani on the need to pay attention to knowledge-based companies and said, significant measures have been taken during forty years of experience in the aviation industry, so Iran can play a positive role in the region by a coherent plan.

He pointed to the formulation and adoption of the Aerospace Comprehensive Plan of Iranian year 1391 and said, design of heavy and semi-heavy helicopters, drones and general aviation overhaul were among the objectives highlighted in the plan.

With 300 knowledge-based companies active in the country, Manteghi emphasized the possibility of fulfilling objectives including international cooperation expansion, Airline Industrial Parks under construction at Imam Khomeini International Airport and 30 Science and Technology Park.

The Head of Iran’s Aerospace Industries Association Mostafa Ebrahimi expressed hope the Aerospace Association would become a pilot center for research and scientific activities as well as the first aerospace hub in the country in the near future.
