Iran, Japan to hold 10th Human Rights Dialogue

TEHRAN, Dec. 16 (MNA) – Iran and Japan are set to hold a meeting in Tokyo to discuss human rights issues as well as the two countries’ policies and views in this regard.

The 10th Human Rights Dialogue between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Japan will be held on December 17-18 in Tokyo. The dialogue will be led by Mansoureh Sharifi-Sadr, the Director General of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Human Rights and Women Affairs Department. A delegation from Iranian Judicial system will be accompanying her.

The Japanese side will be led by Akira Kono, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Policy Bureau and Ambassador in charge of UN affairs.

The delegations will exchange views and experiences on promoting and protecting human rights at national and international levels, as well as explore opportunities to expand cooperation in UN-related activities.

Tehran had hosted the previous round of these dialogues on Sep. 10, 2013.
