Larijani: Extension of negotiations sensible act

TEHRAN, Nov. 26 (MNA) – Iran’s speaker of the Parliament has said Iran and the 5+1 acted sensibly in extending negotiations with all such differences.

Ali Larijani, who was addressing a meeting of Legislation basijis on the occasion of National Week of Basij on Tuesday, described the negotiation extension as a sensible act, since “political negotiations had many dark and nebulous sides, and with all differences, it could be discussed in longer period of time.”

“What would be deemed as future investment for negotiations are public support, domestic solidarity, reliance on domestic capabilities in economics and capacities,” Larijani told the meeting. “One such capability is basij itself; about 80 per cent of the personnel of the Parliament are basij members, which are quite significant; on the wake of the basij movement, no one would have assumed that it would perpetuate itself as a burgeoning project,” he emphasized.

Larijani believed that the performance of basij in the Sacred Defense years was just a magic; “Basij changed the tide in the Sacred Defense; it later turned to a school as an achievement of the war years; it is now a strong school as well,” he lavished praise upon the forces.

“Whenever the Revolution required change, basij was on the field serving the Revolution; the grounds should be prepared for basij to grow and reproduce itself,” he said, “basij created hopes and self-confidence on the hearts of the public, without which other paths should have been taken.”
