'Embraced by God,' Iran’s gift to LatAm disabled children

TEHRAN, Nov. 15 (MNA) – "Embraced by God" written by Afarin Mirshahi is specifically published in Spanish for Latin American children with disabilities.

Embraced by God, a new work of Lighthouse Spanish-language Department of Child and Adolescents, is a little different from previous works and has been specifically published in Spanish for Latin American disabled children.

Titled “Under Shadow of God” in Iran, this work was released by Mashhad Uruj-e-Andishe publications and is written and illustrated by Afarin Mirshahi.

The book contains emotional conversations among blind, deaf, dumb and disabled children who, despite various health problems, express their gratitude to God for the abilities and blessings bestowed uopn them.  

In a part of this book, a blind child talks to God:

"O God! I cannot see the blue sea, but I am glad you gave me ears that I can hear the sound of the waves.”

"Under Shadow of God" was awarded in 8th Roshd Educational Books Festival and Mashhad Cultural Writings Festival.

This work, with a circulation of three thousand copies in Spanish, is being sent to Latin American countries. It has previously been published in English as well.

Lighthouse Spanish-language Department of Child and Adolescents has released over 50 works of Iran’s Children's literature in Spanish and Portuguese.
