ICCN festival opens in Isfahan

ISFAHAN, Oct. 09 (MNA) – The opening ceremony for the International Festival of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICCN) took place in Isfahan this morning

The conference and the ICCN festival are held in Isfahan and will run from October 9-11. Representatives and culture figures in Iran as well as 50 other countries will attend this festival.

Iranian folk music as an aspect of Iran’s intangible cultural heritage was played during the opening ceremony and was warmly-received by Iranian and international audience, alike. A caravan about 200m long decorated with natural colorful flowers was driven through the conference venue and attracted a lot of attention from tourists and the locals.

Shahindokht Molaverdi, Deputy-President for Women and Family Affairs, and the Secretary General of ICCN, Heekyung Choi will deliver speeches during this conference.

Heekyung Choi stated, “the Intangible Cultural Heritage will never be tedious and boring because it illustrates our culture and identity. Isfahan has put quite a lot of effort into bringing about this year’s ICCN festival.”

The General assembly and Women’s Forum are among the other scheduled events during the ICCN festival.
