IMF, Central Bank of Iran hold talks

TEHRAN, Oct. 07 (MNA) – A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) visited Iran to hold meetings with the Central Bank of Iran officials.

In order to provide technical assistance to the monitoring section of the Central Bank, a delegation of four representatives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) visited Iran and exchanged ideas in regard to the Fund’s future plans.

During these meetings, the two sides, while reviewing Iran’s banking system, discussed the main challenges for regulation and monitoring, as well as the use of modern instruments for advanced monitoring, such as fast alert systems and conducting stress tests.

Invited by the Central Bank, this delegation has traveled to Iran to improve and update the specialized knowledge of the monitoring officials. With these interactions, it is hoped that a positive step would be taken toward the improvisation of Iran’s international standing.
