Iran, Kazakhstan presidents hold bilateral talks

TEHRAN, Sep. 09 – Iran and Kazakhstan presidents have held bilateral meetings in Ak Orda Presidential Palace in Astana.

Iran President Hassan Rouhani met with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev Tuesday morning.

The two presidents discussed ways to boost bilateral ties, as well as regional and international issues. Both presidents and the Iranian delegation accompanying Rouhani attended a working lunch session.

In the meeting President Rouhani pointed to the opportunities for expansion of Iran and Kazakhstan ties.

In a joint press conference after working lunch session, Rouhani expressed gratitude for Kazakhstani warm welcome of the Iranian delegation.

Kazakhstan president said his country considers Iran as a trusted economic partner in the region and Caspian Sea, and added that Kazakhstan would make efforts to expand economic relations with Iran.  

Two sides discussed ways to increase bilateral ties in industrial, mineral and agricultural fields.

Iran's president left for Astana Monday evening and will travel to Tajikistan afterward.
