Iran urges freedom of Puerto Rico from US occupation  

TEHRAN, June 24 (MNA) – Iran’s envoy to the UN has asked US and its allies to free occupied lands of Puerto Rico.

Hossein Dehqani, Iran’s permanent envoy to the UN delivered a speech addressed the UN Meeting of Special Committee on Decolonization and urged the US to end the occupation of Puerto Rico.
 
Dehqani pointed to documents by Non-Aligned Movements and asked the UN officials to raise the Puerto Rico case and held that the case had been under surveillance for 39 years. And more than 32 resolutions were passed.
 
Iran’s envoy asked the US government to help accelerate the process of decolonization in Puerto Rico and leave the people of the country to act independently.
 
Dehqani also urged the US to hand in occupied lands of Puerto Rico back to their people.
