Southern Pars to reach Baghdad by next summer

TEHRAN, March 4 (MNA) – Iran’s deputy oil minister has said an agreement between Iran and Iraq was signed to export Iran’s gas to Iraq next summer on a daily basis of around 3 to 4 million cubic meters.

Hamidreza Araqi told Mehr News that according to the latest talks, Iran would export gas to Iraq in 3 stages.

Deputy oil minister reiterated that the 1^st phase of pipeline construction had almost finished. “Given the fast pace of construction, we predict that gas will reach Baghdad by next summer,” he said.

NIOC CEO emphasized that the 1^st phase would export limited volume of around 3 to 4 million cubic meters of natural gas.

Araqi added that operation of 2^nd and 3^rd phases of natural gas export project to Iraq required 300 kilometers of pipeline installation.
