Spanish, Greek, Venezuelan FMs to visit Tehran

TEHRAN, March 2 (MNA) – Foreign ministers of Spain, Greek, and Venezuela will visit Tehran to meet with Iranian government officials.

José García Margallo, Spain’s foreign minister will arrive in Tehran today. He will leave Tehran on next Tuesday. He will visit Isfahan in addition to meeting with Iran’s government officials and some of other dignitaries.

Statement of Spain’s foreign ministry said the meeting was intended to boost bilateral relations between Iran and Spain and discussing regional and international developments including Iran’s nuclear deal with the Powers.

José García Margallo’s visit is the first visit by a Spanish foreign minister since 2004. He also will visit his counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, president Rouhani, Ali Shamkhani, the Secretary of Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, the speaker of the Parliament, and Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, the head of Expediency Discernment Council.

Dr. Rouhani and Spanish Prime Minister had visited during the UN General Assembly in New York.

In the same line, Greek foreign minister Evangelos Venizelos will arrive in Tehran in March 15. Greece is the six-month president of the EU.

Venezuelan foreign minister was also going to travel to Iran but his trip is postponed. Elias Jaua will met with Mohamamd Javad Zarif and Ali Larijani, the speaker of the Parliament and other officials.
