Shahram Jabbari Zadegan, a City Planning expert told Mehr News that since March 2013, every 27 minutes, one had died in road accidents and every 1 minute, one had been injured.
“The number of dead and wounded only in first nine months of this year is more than the population of countries like Iceland, Barbados, and Maldives,” he said, maintaining that the statistics on the casualties had significantly lower than that in last year.
“In Tehran, the road accidents had considerably been reduced thanks to the measures taken by the traffic police of the Greater Tehran and operation of smart traffic control systems by Tehran City Urban Management Office,” he added.
