Foreign, Interior ministries committee on abducted border guards

TEHRAN, Feb. 12 (MNA) – Deputy-minister of the interior has said interior and foreign ministries have established a joint committee to address abducted Iranian border guards.

Hosseinali Amiri told Mehr News correspondent that “the latest measures by the interior ministry focused to save the abducted border guards are a joint enterprise by the interior and foreign ministries.” 

“In diplomatic terms, foreign ministry summoned Pakistan’s ambassador and contacted Pakistan officials to pursue the issue,” added he. 

He also reiterated that the interior ministry pursued the soldiers’ freedom; a committee had been established to take necessary measures on time.
 
On Thursday 5 Iranian border guards were kidnapped on Iran-Pakistan borders. Later, a terrorist group, Al-Jaysh published a photo of the soldiers on its twitter account, taking the responsibilities.
