Salehi: Iran would not retreat in its nuclear technology

TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (MNA) – The head of Atomic Energy Organization has said Islamic Republic would not retreat in nuclear program, says even it would accelerate the pace for improvement in quality.

Ali Akbar Salehi who was addressing a group of Army Air Force commanders and staff on Monday, ensured the participants in the meeting that Iran would not lose anything, and that any suspension or delays in nuclear program by Iran were according to expediency and well-thought.

Salehi asserted that Iran had no plans for a retreat or slowdown in nuclear program, and threatened that if the western side violated the deal and commitments made, Iran would roll back to previous module within hours.

In reaction to insider criticism of the Geneva deal, Salehi quoted the Leader who accused the US of hypocrisy, acting differently than its words behind the scenes. “They seek to disrupt our consensus inside through such measures,” Salehi told the meeting, believing that the Geneva deal articles had highly interpretable parts. “Iran’s negotiators were smart enough not to agree on any amendment about nuclear R&D,” he said.

About the agreement between Iran and Powers to suspend 20 per cent uranium enrichment, Salehi said that the Powers accepts the right to enrich but they recognized such a right for Iran, but postulated that the enrichment level should be jointly commissioned.

Head of Atomic Energy Organization also commented on Iran and the IAEA negotiations. “Iran has good cooperation with the IAEA apart from negotiations with Powers,” Salehi asserted. About the unveiling of a new centrifuge two months ago, he said that the centrifuge was a high-capability and advanced, about which the IAEA was informed.

The ceremony to commemorate the35th anniversary of Islamic Revolution was held in the Shahid Khazraei Air Training Command Center.
