Iran exports 49m tones of goods via land, marine borders

TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (MNA) – Iran has exported 49m tone goods in the first 10 months of the current year (ending March 21), via marine and land borders.

Faramarz Maddah, head of the IT Office of Iran Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization told reporters that Iran had exported 31 million and 754 thousand tone of petroleum and non petroleum products via ports and 46 million and 15 thousands tones of goods via land border posts. 

Statistics shows a 22-percent increase in imports and 16 percent rise in exports compared to those in the same time last year. 

“Goods exported via marine and land borders would be greatly facilitated if the relevant transportation infrastructures were prepared by the participation of the private sector and sufficient support by the public sector,” he added. 

Maddahi also said that most of the exported goods were sent to Afghanistan and Turkey; while most imported goods were from Turkey and Azerbaijan.
