Iran has Infrastructure to build airplanes

TEHRAN, Feb. 4 (MNA) – Meraj Airlines deputy-head has said Iran has the infrastructure to build indigenous airplanes, says aviation industry needs changes in mentality.

Ali Abedzadeh, who was speaking during the graduation ceremony of the Civil Aviation Technology College students, said that “we are proud of our international flights, although there are sanctions against Iran but we need to change mentality in our aviation industry.”

“Iran has 85 airports which all follow the international standards; while few countries nowadays have such number of airports. We also have 150-160 airlines, to which another 300 lines can be added,” added Abedzdeh.

He also held that 1500 people have jobs in aviation industry nowadays and that “we can now start from the design and go through other stages necessary to make an airplane inside the country.”
