Sanctions against Iran illegal: Rouhani
TEHRAN, Jan. 24 (MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has criticized the sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic over its nuclear energy program, noting that the bans are illegal and undermine international law.

In an exclusive interview with CNN news network on Wednesday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, Rouhani said anti-Iran sanctions are illegal and contravene international laws.

Rouhani’s remarks come as fifty-nine US Senators have signed up to a bill that would impose more sanctions on Iran if voted on. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has reportedly been working to convince more Senators to back the draft resolution.

President Rouhani further stated, “We are not afraid of threats and the language of threats is ineffective when it comes to Iran. The language they need to choose should be a legal one, a respectful tone of voice when addressing the Iranian people. It benefits our region and the interests of other countries.”

The Iranian president went on to say that the mistrust between Tehran and Washington is deep-rooted, adding that due to the policies adopted by various American administrations in the past 30 years, the Iranian public does not trust them.

Rouhani also underlined Iran's right to peaceful nuclear energy and uranium enrichment, saying, “It is part of our national pride, and nuclear technology has become indigenous.”

He dismissed the possibility of a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities by Israel, saying, “If they do such a foolish thing, our response will make them rue the day.”

Addressing the UN General Assembly session on October 1, 2013, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened unilateral military action against Iran to dismantle the Islamic Republic’s civilian nuclear sites.

Iran says its nuclear energy program is entirely peaceful, promising a crushing response to any possible military attack. The Islamic Republic has also assured other countries that its military prowess only serves defensive purposes.

The West never gives a damn about what is legal, when it comes to its deeds and actions. These people are bloody savages.

As signers of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty the US and its allies have agreed to help fellow members acquire peaceful nuclear power as long as they follow NNPT guidelines. Iran has kept its actions legal. In contrast, the US and its allies have levied sanctions and intimidation upon Iran in violation of their pledge. The US and its EU partners are in violation of international laws to which they have agreed. Israel is in violation of the UN demand that they join the NNPT. In the US, international law becomes the law of the land so American leaders are in violation of the Symington Amendment which prohibits aid to any country that has not signed the NNPT. The US government has violated that federal law in providing billions of dollars in aid to Israel, Pakistan, and India.

The sanctions Are Racist, Immoral, human rights violation. Sanctions hurt widows and orphans (a grevious sin against God) They keep the cost of food and daily needs high. They keep the standard of living low. Who are they trying yo punnish and why. No trial. No judge . It is a crime
