Minister: Iran, Austria annual trade stands at $1b

TEHRAN, Jan. 8 (MNA) – The value of annual trade between Iran and Austria amounted to one billion dollars in 2013, the Iranian industry, mines, and trade minister said on Tuesday.

“We seek more bilateral cooperation between Iran and Austria,” Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said in a meeting with Austrian ambassador to Tehran Friedrich Stift.

Iran is ready to reactivate the Iran-Austria Joint Economic Committee, Nematzadeh said, adding that barriers will be identified and removed, IRIB reported.

The official further referred to oil and gas, paper, steel, mining, food, natural resources, and tourism industries as the fields which could expand bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Austrian ambassador, for his part, called for more expansion of relations between Iran and Austria.
