Mehr News quoted Mohammad Javad Zarif’s Facebook page. “We need to be united more than ever now,” wrote Zarif in his Facebook daily report.
“Hi everybody. It is 9:20 AM Monday. I’ll beg your pardon for a belated report.
Unfortunately, I could not have attended Nelson Mandela’s funeral ceremony in South Africa. I should have visited in an important meeting the Russian foreign minister to be arrived in Tehran on Wednesday.
We have received Afghan president, Chinese president’s political and security deputy, and Russian foreign minister this week. The visit by Russian and Chinese high-ranking officials seeks to improve and resume the memorandum of understanding with these countries signed by president Rouhani in last September in Bishkek during Shanghai Cooperation Organization, highly important for our foreign policy and economic development.
The visits also would examine the next round of Iran and Powers’ nuclear negotiations, to help us advance our national interests during the talks. My visits to four countries in the region found extensive and positive coverage internationally, assessed generally as an Iranian smart initiative.
Unfortunately, factions inside the country waged attempts to undermine these visits through presenting a distorted version of my remarks, which was the country’s 20-year official line of policies, and sacrificing national interests for attaining their short-term petty partisan interests.
All should know that Iran’s territorial integrity in not negotiable and exchangeable, and even the imagination of negotiating Iran’s soil or casting doubt on the Iran’s sovereignty over the islands is an unpardonable blunder.
Au revoir
God bless you all and all Iran’s lovers.
