Supreme Leader: no one should call negotiators compromisers

TEHRAN, Nov. 3 (MNA) – The Supreme Leader of the Revolution has said no one should call our negotiation team as compromisers.

Mehr News reported that the Supreme Leader of the Revolution addressed a congregation of students in the eve of November 4th, the anniversary of National Day of Campaign against Domination System on Sunday morning.

The Supreme Leader addressed the historical events of November 4 1964. “ sending Imam Khomeini into exile for his exposing the Capitulation Bill which granted exemption from trial in Iran’s court for American military advisors; cruel and mass killing of the students by US-backed dictator regime’s forces in 1979, and the brave retaliatory movement by the students in capturing the American embassy in 1980, all are related to the US in one way or another,” the Supreme Leader added, saying that “ for this reason, November 4th has been called National Day of Campaign against the Domination front.”

“In that day, our young students captured and called the US embassy as ‘Den of Espionage,’ and after more than 3 decades, now the US embassies in Europe are called ‘dens of espionage,’ which indicate that our young students had been ahead of their times,” asserted the Leader.

The Supreme Leader also was quoted to emphasize that “the US government is a government with a penchant for dominance, which grants for itself the right to interfere in the affairs of all nations.”

“Iranian nation stand against the bullying and domination by the US, and after the Revolution, it extirpated the roots of their influence inside as well, and unlike some other countries, it did not abandon the revolution unfinished so as to be punished by its own means,” he said.

The Leader also pointed to some important current issues related to the US. He provided his support for the Iranian negotiation team with P5+1, emphasizing that the negotiators were all the children of the Revolution and Islamic Republic’s agents, who were attending to their duties through thick and thin, and that “no one should disrespect them and call them as compromisers.”

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that negotiation with P5+1, with the US being among them, is only in nuclear issues and on nothing else. “With the providence from God, we would take no damage by this negotiations; rather, we would take the experience very similar to that obtained during temporary suspension of enrichment in 2003 and 2004, which would enrich our people’s analytical capabilities,” the Leader stated.

He also elaborated on the national experience of those years. “ a decade ago, during negotiations with the Europeans, we accepted a temporary suspension , which in reality, was imposed [on us] with the evident concessions; after two years of suspension, all come to the conclusion that even with the staff like that, no hope could be invested in possible cooperation by the western sides,” the Leader asserted.

“ if we had not accepted that, it was possible that, some would have claimed that if Iran compromised once, problems would be solved, and they would come to terms with our nuclear program,” he added, and that “but the temporary suspension revealed to all that our partners were seeking other objectives; so, we resumed the program and went forward.”

He believed that Iran’s nuclear position differed drastically with that in the past decade, and securing his serious and strong support for officials in charge of recent developments with the US, added that he was not optimistic about the recent talks, since “it was not clear whether our nations’ favorite results would have been attained. We believe this experience was raised no issue, in the condition that our nation be alert to what would happen and is really happening.”

The Supreme Leader berated some ‘naïve, tendentious propagandist’ elements and added that “ some of these agencies, lined up by foreign media, wage attempts to mislead the public and to give rise to the idea that if we compromise in nuclear issue, all economic and other problems would be solved overnight.”

“When in the eve of the Revolution the US sanctioned Iran, did the nuclear issue exist,” asked the Leader rhetorically, “when they targeted and downed our passenger jet over the Persian Gulf, was there any pretext as nuclear issue? When they launched a coup d’état in Nojeh military base, did they have nuclear issue as the pretext? And when they politically and logistically supported the opposition groups after the Revolution, was there any nuclear issue?”

The Supreme Leader also believed that the answers to all questions were negative. “ thus, the nuclear issue was nothing more than a pretext, and if we suppose that one day, the issue is solved by our concessions; they would find other ways to resume their enmity toward us, missile technology, Iran’s hostility to the Zionist regime, and its support for the Resistance front being among them,” he emphasized.

“The US animosity toward Iran is based on the fact that the Islamic Republic rejected their demands, and that we believed that the US would achieve nothing against us,” he added.

“The US opposes the existence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its ‘influence, prestige, and hegemonic power,’ and Iran’s publicly elected state,” emphasized he, and that “ as recently evidently stated by one of their politicians, whether atomic or not, Iran is a threat, since it wields influence and power, and hegemony in the region.”

The Supreme Leader maintained that the nuclear issue was a pretext and whenever Iran abandoned its self-esteem and isolated itself, the US would end their hostility toward Iran.

He called all nation and officials to attend to the important issue that since the Revolution, Iran had never felt desperation in face of its enemies, and that “and neither will in the future.”

The Leader of the Revolution cited the recent dissent among the US officials and the 16-day government shutdown, and US great budget deficit; discord between the US and the EU on major issues of interest such as military intervention in Syrian crisis as examples of current situation of the front versus Iran. “Today, Iranian people are alert, strong, progressing, and not comparable to Iran of 20 or 30 years ago,” said the leader.

“However, they would mount pressure; which we should resist these pressures relying on our domestic capabilities,” he added.

The Supreme Leader announced his support for good offices of the government in diplomacy and negotiations. “It was probably a new experience and useful act. If it succeeds, the better; however, if it fails, this will mean that we should rely on ourselves in handling the issues,” he asserted, reiterating his recommendations before that a smiling enemy should not be trusted.

“I would recommend the officials not to fall in the diplomatic trap. Try not to be deceived by enemy’s smiles,” pointed out the Leader.

“Deal with the other side’s words and actions with due caution. They would smile, and at the same time, they would say all options are on the table; however, they would not reveal their true intentions,” added the Leader.

“Today, the Americans are highly malleable in dealing with the Zionist circles inside due to the domination wielded by military and industrial complex on the US government and Congress. They are obliged by the Zionists, but we are not,” said he, adding that “we said from the first day, and we would say in the future, that we believe the Zionist regime as illegitimate regime.”

He also pointed to Iranian officials’ and people’s prudence. “ we would support whatever act by the officials for the country’s expediency, and recommend officials, and especially the young cohort, that open your eyes; awareness is the sole path leading to our ideals,” he said.

The Leader also expressed his hope that, from blessing from God, the young generation of Iranians lead the country to the highest achievements through innovations.
