Mehr News quoted Turkish daily today’s Zaman reporting that Ahmet Davutoglu visited Bahrain on Monday. During a joint press conference with his Bahraini counterpart Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed al-Khalifa, Davutoglu said that Iran sanctions negatively hit Turkish economy. “Turkey welcomes a temporary deal between Iran and Powers on the country’s nuclear program,” he added.
Davutoglu was quoted to say that Iran was a neighbor and had close ties with Turkey. “The deal was the first positive step and we would support any deal that brings peace and stability to the region,” he added.
“Iran’s nuclear deal would help placate violent disturbances in the Middle East. Some may be dissatisfied with the deal, but we do not think so,” Davutoglu asserted, saying that “we believe the move as positive. We hope that the deal brings forth a final deal on Iran’s nuclear program.”
Turkish foreign minister also provided comments on situations in Bahrain. “Turkey supports national dialogue in Bahrain,” he said, emphasizing upon the political, economic, and cultural and tourism cooperation with Bahrain.
