Expediency Council holds 1st session with Ayatollah Amoli as chairman
TEHRAN, Jan. 05 (MNA) – Iran’s Expediency Council held a session on Sat. in Tehran. This is the first session of the body after the Leader of the Islamic Revolution appointed the Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Amoli Larijani as its new head on Dec. 30, replacing the late Ayatollah Hashemi-Shahroudi who passed away on Dec. 4 after a long struggle with cancer.

Officials bid farewell to senior cleric Ayatollah Shahroudi
TEHRAN, Dec. 25 (MNA) – On Tuesday evening at Imam Sadegh Mosque in Tehran, a large number of high-ranking Iranian officials and ordinary people paid tribute to the late Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi who passed away last night after a long-standing struggle with cancer.

Expediency Council meeting
TEHRAN, Dec. 15 (MNA) – The Expediency Council convened on Sat. to review the FATF-related anti-money laundering bill (CFT). At the end of the meeting, the Council's spokesman, Mohsen Rezaie, responded to journalists’ questions about the differences between the Parliament and the Council on the bill. The meeting was chaired by it head Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati and it was attended by the Speaker of the Parliament Ali Larijani.
