TEHRAN, Apr. 02 (MNA) – Iran’s Army Ground Force has dispatched helicopters to help the flood-stricken people in Pol-e Dokhtar County, western Lorestan province, Army spokesman Brigadier General Shahin Taghihhani said on Tuesday.

Aerial photos reveal aftermath of flood in N Iran
AQQALA, Mar. 21 (MNA) – Heavy flood hit vast regions of Golestan province, including Aqqala county today. Flood has surrounded some nine villages cutting access to their roads. Officials have requested residents of some villages to evacuate their homes. It is said that the flood is moving towards the Caspian Sea and will end tomorrow.

Wildefire in Astara
ASTARA, Jan. 16 (MAN) – Starting on Tuesday night, a wildfire is spreading across the Astara forests, Gilan province, northern Iran. Warm winds are fanning the wildfire making the efforts to contain the fire ineffective up to now. No injuries or victims have been reported.

TEHRAN, Dec. 25 (MNA) – Mount Etna in Sicily, which is among the most active volcanos in Italy and Europe, has roared back into spectacular volcanic action, sending up plumes of ash and spewing lava on Monday. This is while towns and cities of the region are not yet being evacuated. Also more than 130 minor tremors have been reported in the region, according to Mount Etna Observatory.
