TEHRAN June 29 (MNA) -– General Secretary of Cooperative Chamber of Iran Mohammad Reza Ramazani in a meeting with the Chairman of International Union of Cooperatives, said here Tuesday that about 60,000 Iranian cooperatives with their 16 million members are capable of creating 100,000 jobs a year.

July 3 as International Cooperatives Day, Ramazani said that many areas of cooperative activities in Iran called for more effective collaboration between Iranian and international cooperatives.

 

Meeting with Iranian officials, the international chairman termed his visit to Iran as positive, saying that he will study the avenues to increase ties between Iranian cooperatives and cooperatives in other countries.

 

Referring to Islam’s positive approach to cooperatives, Barbini said, “We see how this Islamic approach is working in Iran.”
