Rohani calls for moderation, shuns extremism

TEHRAN, Jun. 12 (MNA) – Hassan Rohani has called for an end to extremism and adopting moderation to restore calm in the society.

Rohani, who has chosen his government’s slogan as “prudence and hope,” told his supporters in the northwestern city of Urmia on Monday that men and women will enjoy equal rights under his administration, if he is elected president.

He also added that his government will continue the path of the “construction and reforms”, which was led by Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Mohammad Khatami respectively.

He also said that he has plans to restore Lake Urmia, the third largest salt water lake on earth, whose water has dried up more than 70 percent over the past few years.
