Iran judoka Roudaki goes under the knife again

TEHRAN, March 10 (MNA) – Iran super-heavy judoka Mohammad Reza Roudaki will likely quit his career after he underwent a surgery again.

Roudaki underwent a surgery on his thigh because of injury on Saturday in Tehran’s Atieh Hospital. 

Roudaki already missed the 2012 Olympic Games because of the injury. 

“My doctor told me I had a successful surgery. I have to wait to gain full recovery. I am not going to quit and will decide about that after being released from the hospital,” Roudaki was quoted by IRNA as saying. 

The 29-year-old judoka won two gold medals in the Asian Championships in 2005 and 2012 in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.  

Mohammad Reza Roudaki has also won a silver medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. He seized a bronze medal at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.
