Turkish schools pick Iran’s “Majid” as best translated book

TEHRAN, Sept. 29 (MNA) -- The Turkish version of Hushang Moradi Kermani’s “The Stories of Majid” was selected as the Best Book in the field of translation at the ISTEK Schools International in Istanbul.

Kelime Publications released the Turkish version of “The Stories of Majid” by Nezahat Basci which has been enthusiastically received by Turkish readers.

“Sweet Jam”, “Like the Full Moon,” “The Tandoor” “The Cruse” are other works by Kermani that have been translated into Turkish by Nezahat Basci.

Kermani is invited by Kelime Publications to attend the of ISTEK Schools celebration this coming November.

Moradi Kermani (born September 7, 1944) is an eminent author of books primarily for children and teenagers. However, his works also appeal to adults.

A number of his books have been translated into English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Arabic, and Armenian.

Turkey’s Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts also planted five trees last week at the Hatira Ormani, a forestation project, in commemoration of Kermani as a symbol of the green, prosperous world he presents to Turkish children through his books.
