Bushehr nuclear plant will reach 40% of its capacity in 3 months

TEHRAN, Sept. 15 (MNA) – Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Director Ali Akbar Salehi has announced that the Bushehr nuclear power plant will reach a capacity of producing 400 megawatts of electricity in three months.

The main phase of loading nuclear fuel into the Bushehr reactor will be carried out in two months and the plant will reach 40 percent of its nominal production capacity by late December, Salehi told IRNA news agency in Tehran on Wednesday.

He said that the Bushehr nuclear plant will reach its full capacity by March 2011.

Energy Minister Majid Namjou also stated on Wednesday that the Bushehr nuclear plant will join national power grid in three months.

Namjou was to inspect the Bushehr plant on Wednesday to make sure the facilities provided by the Energy Ministry are ready to receive the electricity to be produced by the nuclear plant.
