Physically challenged troupe to bring “White Land” on stage

TEHRAN, Sept. 12 (MNA) -- Physically challenged stage artists will perform the play “White Land” at the Arasbaran Cultural Center on September 14 and 15.

Directed by Hadi Sarvari, the play required three years of rehearsals and is the third performance by the ten physically challenged artists between the ages of 22 and 40.

“I tried to improve the disabled artists’ self-confidence through psychodrama. Most of the disabled are secluded due to their inability to fully cope with everyday life,” Sarvari mentioned in a press release on Sunday.

The play is based on Attar’s “Mantiq at-Tayr” (Conference of the Birds), one of the masterpieces of classical Persian literature.

It is about a secluded group of people who believe that they should have outside support for their social activities but as the time goes on, they realize that the best support comes from their own abilities.

The center is located on Arasbaran St., in the Seyyed Khandan neighborhood.
