Actress Ahu Kheradmand narrates life in paintings

TEHRAN, Sept. 6 (MNA) -- Iranian actress Ahu Kheradmand is holding her first solo painting exhibition in Tehran’s Shirin Gallery opening on September 17.

Life and living is most obvious in the gauche works of the artist, with each tableau narrating a story. “The narrative form of each work is rooted in my experience in cinema, theater and TV,” Kheradmand, who is mostly known as an actress and a translator, told the Persian service of ISNA on Monday.

“I have always been interested in painting and used to draw rough sketches every now and then. But I began to do more paintings seriously since six years ago,” she added.

“Painting is entertainment for me but my friends suggested that I hold an exhibit when they saw my works. And, with the help of friends, I was able to hold the first exhibit to display 50 artworks,” she remarked.

The weeklong exhibit will be running at the gallery located at 145 North Salimi St., off Andarzgu Blvd. in the Farmanieh neighborhood.
