Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hosts Iftar for Iranian artists

TEHRAN, Sept. 5 (MNA) -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held an Iftar dinner on Saturday at his office for a group of Iranian artists.

Fifteen cinematic, TV and stage artists attended the Iftar meal.

The government has absolute trust in Iranian artists and supports those who try to boost Iran’s Islamic culture, Ahmadinejad said during a meeting with the artists held before Iftar.

The government supports original art activities and everyone who has artistic talent should have the opportunity for pursuing such activity, he added.

Ahmadinejad went on to say that artists can globalize Iran’s accomplishments throughout various stages of history and their works of art can immortalize the country’s lofty culture.

At the ceremony, the participating artists praised the government’s efforts in art and culture and expressed their vocational concerns to the president.
