Bahrain to buy gas from Iran

TEHRAN, Sep. 3 (MNA) – SHANA news agency quoted Iranian Oil Minister Masoud Mirkazemi as saying that the deal to export gas to Bahrain will soon be finalized after negotiations between gas specialists of the two countries are held.

The minister was speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with Bahrain's Oil and Gas Affairs Minister Abdul-Hussain Bin Ali Mirza.

He expressed hope that in the near future bilateral relations between the two friendly countries will increase to a better level, especially in the field of oil and gas.

“In a recent meeting between the two countries several fields for cooperation and development in the energy sector were proposed and in the same framework Iran is supposed to export gas to Bahrain to supply the necessary fuel for electric power plants in that country,” he said.

He reiterated that the two sides had reached an overall agreement on the deal and details remained to be agreed upon by future delegations after Eid ul-Fitr.
