Iran’s Largest Cinema Database to Be Opened

TEHRAN Jan. 5 (Mehr News Agency) -- The website of the largest cinema database in Iran is to be launched in conjunction with the Fajr International Film Festival. Designed by the Bureau of Arts, the database is intended to be an index of cinema information for the use of cinema fans. The site is being designed in four phases. The first phase will be available at www.sourehcinema.com when the Fajr Film Festival begins.

The website contains information on 24,344 artists of the Iranian cinema, containing biographies, film information, national and international festivals, and picture albums of each artist. Artists can also visit the website and personally enter or update their personal information. Each artist has been given a private e-mail address, which will be activated upon contact with the Sureh website.

 

The festival section of the site includes information on The International Fajr Festival, Festivals dedicated to the Sacred Defense, Children and Young People Festivals, Village Festivals, or any festival event in Iran, including items on festival backgrounds, rules, judges, participating countries, nominees, and other festival data.

 

The site also includes a movie schedule section with news regarding released movies, film schedules, and cinemas addresses and information. A section for reserving tickets will be activated in the future.

 

News on artists, movies, festivals, and production companies, will be available in the news section.
