Rafsanjani urges Shia, Sunni scholars to identify conspirators

TEHRAN, May 30 (MNA) – On Saturday, Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani urged Shia and Sunni scholars to identify those who are conspiring against Muslims.

The remarks by Rafsanjani came as a bomb explosion inside a Shia mosque in Zahedan left 25 people dead and many more wounded on Thursday. The attack took place during evening prayers on a public holiday marking the anniversary of the death of the daughter of Prophet Mohammad (S), Fatima (SA).

“The enemies of the Muslim world’s unity are seeking to create rift…among the Islamic schools of jurisprudence,” he told a meeting of the Expediency Council in Tehran.

He expressed hope that decisive efforts of the intelligence and security bodies will end terrorist activities in the country.
