Five-star Iran crushes Indonesia

KARAJ, May 26 (MNA) -- Iran football team claimed a convincing victory over Indonesia in a friendly game held in Karaj at the Enghelab Stadium.

Afshin Ghotbi, whose team is getting prepared to play a must-win game against North Korea in Pyongyang on June 6, beat Indonesian team 5-0.

Indonesia’s defender scores an own goal in the 20th minute. Ferydoon Zandi scored a brace in the 54th and 89th minutes. Arash Borhani (67) and Mohammad-Reza Khal’atbari (72) scored other goals to seal a convincing victory in the warm-up match.

Iran is fourth in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers in Group Two with six points. South Korea tops the pool with 11 points from five games, followed by its northern neighbor with 10 points from six games, with Saudi Arabia in third, also with 10 points from six games.
