Iran reaches World Cup Volleyball qualifying final round

TEHRAN, May 26 (MNA) -- Iran eased past Pakistan in the second round of the 2010 FIVB World Men’s Volleyball Championship Qualifiers Group D on Tuesday.

Iran thrashed Pakistan, under the leadership of the Iranian coach Ali-Reza Moameri, 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-18) at the Azadi Volleyball Hall. Iran had defeated Oman in its opening, while Pakistan had lost to India 3-2.

On the third day of the competition (Wednesday), Iran takes on India, and Pakistan faces Oman.

The top two teams from this group will qualify for the third and final round. Oman is the fourth team competing in the event.
