MOSCOW, May 22 (MNA) -- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin called for the expansion of energy ties between Tehran and Moscow here on Thursday.

During his meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ali Ahani, Borodavkin highlighted the importance of boosting economic and political ties between the two countries and said, “Russia is ready to cooperate with Iran to secure the Caspian Sea’s peace.”


Ali Ahani also noted that the two countries current cooperation level is not desirable and underlined the need for boosting bilateral ties.


Iran and Russia are among the world’s leading energy suppliers.
