Insulting religious sanctities is the system’s red line: Leader

SAQQEZ, May 19 (MNA) -- Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said insulting the religious sanctities of Shias or Sunnis is the system’s red line.

“Insulting the sanctities of Shias or Sunnis is the system’s red line. No one has the right to ignore the red line, either out of ignorance or prejudice, and turn into the enemy’s best tool,” he said in a meeting with the people in Saqqez, Kordestan Province on Tuesday.

The Leader pointed to the enemies’ plot to create schisms among Muslims and said, “This plot failed inside (the country) due to the nation’s vigilance.”

He also stated that it is imperative for the people of Kordestan to be alert.

“We have precise information that on the other side of our western border, the United States, through gathering information, spending money, and providing arms, is organizing plots and training terrorists… Thus, the Iranian Kurds and the entire nation should be totally alert and vigilant.”

Ayatollah Khamenei praised the role of the people of Saqqez during the Sacred Defense (the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war) and said that the nation will never forget the efforts of the courageous people of Saqqez.

He added, “The Kurds’ loyalty to Islam and the Islamic system is a beautiful reality which became clearer to the Iranian nation and the friends and enemies of the Islamic Republic during this visit.”

The Leader also expressed hope that the problems of Kordestan Province would be resolved soon.
