Iran to present package of proposals to 5+1 soon

TEHRAN, May 19 (MNA) – Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi announced here on Monday that Iran “will soon present its package of proposals” to the major powers.

Qashqavi refused to elaborate on the contents of the diplomatic package, saying that the details of the plan will be made public when it is officially released.

Iran had earlier announced that it is drawing up a package of proposals to present to the 5+1 group (the five permanent UN Security Council members -- the U.S., Britain, France, China, and Russia -- plus Germany).

The package is meant to end the dispute between Iran and the West over Tehran’s nuclear program. Iran has said the package of proposals will be comprehensive and will dispel all concerns about Iran’s nuclear activities.
