AWF Secretary-General paid tribute to Iranians

TEHRAN, May 18 (MNA) -- Asian Weightlifting Federation Secretary-General Ali Moradi paid tribute to the Iranian lifters who have recently come first at the 40th Asian Senior Men’s Championship in Kazakhstan.

“Iranian athletes proved they have great potential. They can perform better in international competitions, in particular in the Olympics,” Moradi said.

Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships were originally scheduled for August 1 to 10 in Pune, India, but the event has been delayed after the organizers announced they are not fully prepared.

“The AWF executive board accepted the Indians’ demand. They must provide appropriate facilities for the event. The competitions will be held from January 9 to 17,” AWF Secretary General added.
