TEHRAN, May 17 (MNA) – A regional conference on “women in the Quran” was held in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan recently.

Organized by Afghan Ministry of Women Affairs, Scientific & Research Foundation of Seyyed Esmaeil Balkhi, and Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the conference was held in a bid to highlight women’s position and social rights in Quran, and Islam.

 

Familiarizing women with their rights in position in Quran in Islamic and Quranic teachings can protect them against the West’s cultural invasion, Afghan Vice-President Mohammad-Karim Khalili said.

 

A number of sideline workshops, meeting with a number of Afghan officials including minister of women's affairs were among the programs of the two-day event.

 

A number of female figures from Iran, including MP Fatemeh Rahbar, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and India attended the gathering.
