TEHRAN, May 16 (MNA) -- Artist Iran Darroudi rebought a number of her own paintings that were in foreign countries for her exhibit entitled “Ethereal Moments”, which is currently underway at Tehran’s Shirin Gallery.

“I brought my paintings back to Iran to find their way into your homes for the love of my homeland,” reads a note on a wall of the gallery explaining Darroudi’s motivation to hold the exhibit.

The collection contains thirty works by the artist. The new book “The Story of Mankind and Its Perseverance” written by Mehdi Mozaffari Savoji, contains all the information about the artist. The book, along with some other works written about the artist, is on display for sale at the exhibit.

Darroudi, who has always placed emphasis on her love of her homeland, has also mentioned in the note, “I paid half of the price myself, and you can pay the other half. But you must not sell or display any of the works at world art sales.”

The exhibit, which opened on May 15, will continue until May 27 at the gallery located at No. 145 North Salimi St., off Andarzgu Blvd. in the Farmanieh neighborhood.

Darroudi was born on September 2, 1936 in Mashhad. She studied Fine Art at the Ecole Superier des Beaux-Arts in Paris, the history of art at the Ecole du Louvre, stained glass technique at the Royal Academy of Brussels, and television direction and production at the R.C.A.
