TEHRAN, May 15 (MNA) – The 17th Annual International Conference on Mechanical Engineering will be held at Tehran University from May 19 to 21, 2009.

Fluids and solid mechanics, dynamic systems, control, and vibration, thermodynamics and heat transfer, energy and environment, and computational mechanics, as well as micro and Nano mechanics are among the issues to be discussed at the event. 

Organized by the university’s faculty of mechanical engineering, the conference will feature latest theoretical, mathematical, and scientific developments in mechanical engineering as well as applications of established techniques to new domains.

Vice President for Science and Technology Sadegh Vaez-Zadeh, Chancellor of Tehran University Farhad Rahbar are slated to deliver speeches at the opening ceremony of the event.

Dimisthenis (Dimos) Poulikakos from Zurich ETH University, Switzerland, Nader Jalili from U.S. Clemson University, Goodarz Ahmadi from U.S. Clarkson University, Pascal Perrier from French Gipsa-Lab, Afshin Ghajar from Oklahoma State University, and Arzhang Khalili from German Max-Planck Institute will also give speeches to the gathering. 

Great numbers of Iranian scientific figures and professors from Tehran University, Sharif University of Technology, Amir Kabir University (Tehran Polytechnic), and Isfahan University of Technology will also attend the three-day conference.
