Mottaki says Iran-Britain ties are normal

TEHRAN, May 13 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told reporters that Tehran-London relations are normal.

Iran and Britain have few disagreements on some issues which are natural, Mottaki said following the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

In a letter on Monday, the Iranian permanent mission to the United Nations reacted to British Foreign Secretary David Miliband’s remarks about Iran, saying Britain is in no position to judge other countries.

Also Mottaki said Iran is drawing up a package of proposals which will be sent to the 5+1 group (five permanent members of the Security Council and Germany) in the near future.

The package is expected to include solutions on how to end fear of nuclear weapons proliferation while respecting countries signatory to the NPT to use nuclear technology for civilian purposes.

On U.S. overtures to Iran, he said Tehran will absolutely react to Washington if it sees any practical changes in U.S. policy toward Tehran.

He also said that Iran’s Foreign Ministry has warned Saudi officials against the misbehaviors toward Iranian pilgrimages.
