Iran, Syria should prepare economic cooperation roadmap: minister

TEHRAN, May 11 (MNA) – Iran and Syria should prepare a roadmap for their long-term cooperation in different economic fields, Iranian Minister of Housing and Urban Development Mohammad Saeidikia stated in Tehran on Sunday.

In a meeting with Syrian Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdullah al-Dardari, he said Iran is ready to provide Syria with technical knowledge particularly in the housing and urban development field.


According to IRINN, the Syrian official attended the meeting accompanied by Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Sufian al-Alaw and a group of economic experts.


Iran and Syria had $350 million worth of trade and $1.5 billion worth of joint ventures last year.

The two countries have set a target of $1 billion trade for 2010.
