Iran-OIC trade surpasses $27b for calendar year

TEHRAN, May 9 (MNA) -- The trade value between Iran and the members of The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) touched $27.7 billion in the Iranian calendar year 1387 (ended March 20, 2009).

This figure shows about 15.73 percent growth in comparison to the $24 billion figure in the Iranian calendar year 1386, the Mehr News Agency reported on Saturday.


According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) public relations office, Iran exported $9.4 billion worth of goods to the OIC members during the previous year.


Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia have been the five major buyers of Iranian goods in the mentioned period.


The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations. It groups 57 member states, from the Middle East, Africa, Caucasus, Balkans, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia and South America.
