Iran’s beach soccer team invited to Hungary

TEHRAN, May 9 (MNA) -- Iranian beach soccer outfit has been invited to Hungary to take part in a friendly tournament.

Iran, which is gearing up for the 2009 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifiers, will take part in the tournament; however, the time and participants have yet to be confirmed.

It seems that the event will be slated for mid-summer with the participation of the world’s best teams.

At the moment, Iran’s beach soccer team is lead by Behzad Dadashzadeh, but it is said that Brazilian Marco Octavio will be named as the team’s coach soon.

Asia’s top two teams will qualify for the 2009 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

Altogether 16 teams will take part in the event from November 16 to 22, 2009, in Dubai.
